oh yar!
i forgot to complain on my previous post!
the newspaper labelled us as a neighbourhood school!
NEIGHBOURHOOD SCHOOL!
hmm... ok. warning: i'm going to be extremely arrogant and schoolist and classist and watever-ist here so if you can't take it pls don't read on.
it got me so fuming mad when i read it. Saturday i think.
they reported about the results and everything and i was reading along fine when i suddenly saw it. Neighbourhood schools like Cedar Girls' Secondary. it's not a direct quote by the way. i'm just lazy to get the papers and copy it. it's something like that. or it implied that.
i was so mad i nearly tore the papers. and my sis was saying. i knew u would react like that. and my mum was tryin to calm me down and say 'yar the reporter is very lousy.'
PLS!
ARGH!
our reputation!!!!!!
*goes off screaming very censored stuffs*
and that's not all.
they just can't be happy can they? that reported still had to go on rubbing salt HARD into the wound by saying something like... oh, the number of 10 A1s dropped ALOT from last year because all the schools like Nanyang and Raffles have gone IP. which amounts to the lousier results this year.
CAN THEY PLEASE!
i mean. i'm ok with them being smarter and everything. I mean. They ARE smarter. i'm fine with that. god made some with more brains than others. or more hardworking. but does that reporter have to go all the way like that? she's almost like wiping the ass of the SAP schools if u get what i mean. it's figurative. not literally. And to think i was still so happy. she completely bursted my bubble. We get great results and they have to come tell us 'oh. that's because you're left with the stupid ppl. the smart ppl went off to somewhere greater.'
you feel that?
or am i just being oversensertive?
but hey. it's my school you're talking abt.
Have you heard of a Girls' neighbourhood school?!
ARGH!!
ARGH! ARGH!!
more ppl should complain abt this! go read the papers!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
do they think we're T.W.?
so they kinda confused us and say we're a neighbourhood sch?
whoosssshh.... calm down.......
i'm feeling Zen-like....
i'm calm....
it's ok....
it's just a label...
very meaningless to schools like us...
because we ARE good....
so such labels are not important....
but some aunties reading the newspaper might have just changed their opinion of us...
i can hear them in the market or hair salon now. dying their hair blond with extra perm.
Auntie 1: "Wah! Ah Sum ar! You got hear? Cedar Girls' actually is a neighbourhood school leh! Means they going down! Better not send your girl-girl there!"
Ah Sum: "seeed! Really ar?? i just enrolled my ah-girl to study there! I thought they not neighbourhood school? You sure a not? don't anyhow say say. My ah-girl want to be lawyer one!"
Auntie 1: "Confirm lah! i read in newspaper! Newspaper leh! How can be wrong? Better send my girl-girl to XXX Secondary School. Cheaper some more! Same uniform anyway!"

Before i die...
see snow
see a sky choking with stars
have someone beside me who can tell me every single story behind the stars
lie on a grass slope and gaze at the cloudy sky
see shooting stars
see a wild meadow
see autumn
see a moon so huge it takes up the whole sky
see the northern lights
go Venice for Madi Gras Carnival
and finally... see the earth. from outer space.
DREAMER
by Michelle Keesling
I will not descend downward
Until after I have conquered that fear
Clasping stars within my hands
They shall not stray from my touch
I am a dreamer
My wings lie in my mind
Where they allow me to divide the clouds
As I ascend through their cotton-like tufts
One cannot pierce my heart with any arrow
It is filled with pure bliss and compassion
No one will ever be able to seize that from me
Although at times my eyes may look wounded
My strength has never fled
